The Church of The Holy Guardian Angels exists to provide ministry and witness continuing in the best Anglican traditions of the Church of England. We aspire to lead the Sacramental Christian life, following the yearly pilgrimage through the Church Calendar which sets aside certain days and seasons of each year to recall and celebrate various events in the life of Christ, while worshiping Almighty God in the beauty of holiness. We do this as taught by Holy Scripture, the three Ancient Creeds, the Church forefathers and the lives of the Saints.
We believe the Church should, first and foremost, show the way to God and build upon the rock of faith, not to embrace and promote the shifting sands of today’s secular contemporary social agendas.
We believe the task of the Church is to convert society to God’s ways, rather than society converting the Church to corruption.
We adhere to traditional Anglican worship. To this end, we use only the King James Bible, the 1928 Book of Common Prayer and the American or English Missal. Priest worship facing traditional east toward the Altar, leading in our joint sacrifice to God and not facing the people in the act of sharing a meal.
We aim to give comfort and support to isolated traditionalists who lack the support of a local congregation and to bring the Sacrament and traditional worship to them.
We hold to the Bible as God’s inspired words and to the traditional 1928 Book of Common Prayer, the Ordinal and the Thirty Nine Articles of Religion as containing reliable summaries of our Faith.
We hold to the Sacraments of the Church: Holy Baptism, which brings us “into Christ” which is completed in Confirmation and the Holy Eucharist which unites us to the Sacrifice of Christ and through which He feeds us with His Body and His Blood.
We hold to the Holy Orders of Bishops, Priests and Deacons and in accordance with Biblical teaching and tradition that these Orders can only be held by men.
Our Sunday liturgy is a Solemn or High Mass which is also known as “High Church” with all the incense, bells and singing that go with that description. A Low Mass liturgy is held Saturday evenings at 6:00 PM and Sunday Morning at 9:00 am.
We strive to uphold the catholic message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a world which desperately needs it, and to preserve the “faith once delivered to the saints” in its Anglican form. We would welcome you join us in that work.
Who May Receive Holy Communion?
Those who have been baptized, who believe in the Real Presence of the Body and Blood of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, who are in love and charity with their neighbors, who have prepared themselves by repentance and fasting (at least one hour before receiving Holy Communion) and, if necessary, by the Sacrament of Penance. All other persons may come to the altar with arms folded on their chests to receive a blessing.
We welcome our visitors and invite you to sign the guest registry in the narthex. Please leave your name, address and phone number. “The Order of the Mass” may be found in the pews. Hymn numbers are posted at the front of the nave.
and we believe in all that is written in
The Nicene Creed:
I believe in one God,
the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
and of all things visible and invisible;
And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only-begotten Son of God,
begotten of his Father before all worlds,
God of God, Light of Light,
very God of very God,
begotten, not made,
being of one substance with the Father;
by whom all things were made;
who for us men and for our salvation
came down from heaven,
and was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary,
and was made man;
and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered and was buried;
and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures,
and ascended into heaven,
and sitteth on the right hand of the Father;
and he shall come again, with glory,
to judge both the quick and the dead;
whose kingdom shall have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Ghost the Lord, and Giver of Life,
who proceedeth from the Father and the Son;
who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped
and glorified;
who spake by the Prophets.
And I believe one holy Catholic and Apostolic Church;
I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins;
and I look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
